MyPad-YourPad.com is the next generation of free online communities.
My site has only been online since the beginning of this year and have not been getting many members.
I get many spammers from the Aland Islands, of which is a big pain!
I do get many visitors pbut no one seems to want to become members
I been having open house for non-members so that they can see what my site has to offer.
I advertize a lot on Facebook and Twitter. Not too many responses from that.
I know it takes time but what am I doing wrong? What will it take to get new members?
Comments are welcome!

Ok, lets start with Orange text on a white background, absolute no-no.

The section " Safe and Secure " does not need to be on the front page, people do not like being told what to do. Move it to the registration page and re-word it to be a bit softer and include an " I Agree " button.

Tell us more about what the community is all about, give people a reason to join, remember you are basically in competition with Facebook, Twitter et al.

I can't see where the link is to see a taster of what is on offer, if that is not available then suggest you think about it.

What about localised newsfeeds using RSS to provide another reason for people to visit.

Hope you take this as constructive critisism and not just critisism.

Thats it for now but should I think of anything else I will let you know.

Just been looking at your site again.

In my opinion your " Contact Us " and your " Feedback " pages are far too busy, keep it simple otherwise when someone wants to get in touch with you they may well decide it's not worth all that effort.

Cheers, Jeff.

giving the appearance of scamming users assures little repeat visitors

Into which MLM (MultiLevel Marketing) scam have you been suckered? Or were you simply hoping for endless naive clicking of pay-per-click wrappers?

Pleasing colors for CMS vs your nightmare emo palette

If you must have a dark background then find a nice way to blend colors

here craft use of whitespace and indentation to array information... you might try it

tables?  are you sure? there are more elegant options, perhaps with list elements, too
